Something Beautiful

When we surrender to God, letting go of the dreams, aspirations and all that’s believed would bring happiness, in a sense it’s like a resigning to oneself. Like a tiny seed being carefully put in the ground, and seemingly forgotten. Covered up by the dirt, and remaining still in the cold, darkness, and dampened soil. Then, taking deep root into the soil, delving into the word of God, allowing the shoots of grace to form life into our souls. We become uncomfortable as we grow, but then after the Spirit waters us, we form a leaf, then a bud, and finally a flower that begins to slowly open, turning it’s face up towards the sun. It’s a living for Him which is the only way we can truly grow and transform into something beautiful. It’s because God plants us into the exact ground He has called us, and it’s only there we can grow.

Much love,

  1. Crocuses! I have fond memories of a single crocus always being the first flower to bloom in spring, right outside my bedroom window growing up.

This was beautiful, Vivian! Thanks for sharing. Have you ever listened to the sermon, β€œA Grain of Wheat” by Ian Thomas? This reminds me of that. 😊

    1. Hi Olivia! I love your name, it’s lovely. I have a son named Oliver, which is the masculine version of Olivia…

Awww, thanks so much!πŸŒ±πŸ€— I haven’t heard that sermon but if it’s on sermon audio I will definitely look it up. Thanks so much! 🌱❀

If you mean sermonaudio.com, it is there! It’s also available as an audio download on other sermon websites. πŸ™‚ I hope if you ever get a chance to listen to it, you enjoy it! ❀

      1. Steve, it’s so important we hold eachother up in prayer and I’m very happy to. There are also two prayer groups I am a part of here on WordPress if you are interested in joining. Stuart from Something to Stu Over and Inside Cup by T R Nobel. Inside Cup has a community prayer request post that she updates monthly and Stuart’s prayer group is through email. God bless you too!πŸ™‚πŸ™

        Had forgotten about the leg.
Leg’s doing very well – far better than the heart. Am on waiting list for trip to Hamilton to see whats going on. The nurse came with me to the doctor and specialist – to make sure I get treated, rather than Chloe (her dog).

        hOPE YOU’RE DOING WELl. OOPS!
        Blessings “crazy” me

  2. One of the quotes I have on my kitchen wall is, “Bloom where you are planted.” It’s a reminder to me that God will help me grow wherever I am, whatever circumstances I’m in. He will water me. I only need to turn to Him ❀ Thanks for this!

    1. That is such a great quote T R ! πŸ’•πŸ’•God has helped me to learn this while making the best out of circumstances that seem to be all wrong. He knows exactly what we need in order to grow and that’s why He plants His beloved in soil that isn’t perfect so He can perfect that which concerns us Psalm 138:8. Much love!β€β€πŸ€—
