Prayer Request

Beloved friends, some of you from the prayer group already know that my husband lost his job last week and I greatly appreciate the love and prayers being sent.

The company eliminated his entire team due to company cuts from low production. This news came as a shock to us and now we are dealing with job loss including the loss of medical insurance at the end of this month.

We have gone through this before in 2012. At that time, I had a few toddlers and a baby in diapers. Although my health was still good at that point (and I could just eat junk), I’m currently healing from a hard time of TBI and fatigue which requires more intentional care.

Please pray for my family as we face this new trial. Especially for wisdom and guidance which my husband needs as we seek God for His leading and direction.

God got us through seven months of unemployment before and I know He will get us through this again a second time around. (May I just say I wish we didn’t have to face this again?)😭

Nothing happens outside of God’s will and I’m trusting in His goodness, faithfulness and perfect plan for our lives. I do know that He will work all things together for our good because He promises so to those who love Him. (Romans 8:28) During the seven month interim of unemployment we never went without food and God took care of our bills. Sometimes it was a friend pitching in or neighbor bringing groceries and quietly leaving canned goods on our deck. Sometimes it was people giving us odd jobs of chopping wood or farming that got us through. God provided for us then and I’m eager to watch Him at work again.

This past week we emptied out all our change and discovered we had over $80 in quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies! And I sold a pair of sneakers on Facebook Marketplace and got $20. It was amazing! πŸ˜ƒ He is working already. Actually, He’s never not working.

I’m reminding myself of my mama’s words to me, “One day at a time, Viv, one day at a time.”

Psalm 37:25 “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

Much love,

Viv β€πŸ™

I’m continuing to pray for you daily dear one. Are you okay? Has your body adjusted to the new meds?

      1. You’re most welcome! That’s the greatest gift we can give one another – the gift of prayer.
The doctor had to once again increase the dosage of the pain meds, I’m waiting for my body to respond to them. They say it usually takes 2 weeks or so. But all is well, all will be well. πŸ˜ŒπŸ™πŸ½

    1. Thanks brother! This greatly encourages my heart just now. I wish I could get a job but my health won’t allow it at this time. Last time we were unemployed I sold crocheted items online but it’s a lot of work for just pennies of profit. I’m so thankful for this comment Ryan. God bless you always! πŸ€—

  3. Oh Vivian, my heart goes out to you and your family. I know how scary it is to be facing no health insurance while living with an illness. I so wish you lived close so I could come over with a meal and sit and chat with you. Prayers are being sent up for you all.

      1. Having job uncertainty on top of health is very scary. But I know this will be a short time before your wonderful husband will be working again. I will pray for the best job for your husband and for all your needs to be met! Amen.

  4. Praying for you sweet sis. I totally understand. Andrew and I have been through this many times. We’re still going through it. God is so good. He WILL supply. I have a verse for you. When I read this verse recently it was so comforting to me. This is us. We’re in good hands. No we’re in the BEST of hands.

Luke 16:19-31 New International Version (NIV)

    The Rich Man and Lazarus

19 β€œThere was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 β€œThe time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, β€˜Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

25 β€œBut Abraham replied, β€˜Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

27 β€œHe answered, β€˜Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

29 β€œAbraham replied, β€˜They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 β€œβ€˜No, father Abraham,’ he said, β€˜but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

31 β€œHe said to him, β€˜If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

Blessed are the Poor. Why? For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 5:3) God’s got us. It’s for our protection. It doesn’t feel that way sometimes, but the truth is that this is the absolute best thing for us. Love you Viv. ❀

    1. Oh thank you Tina! β€πŸ€— This passage of scripture really helps. I find myself pouring over these verses more and more as they seem more relevant than if we never suffered such things. It’s amazing how God provides such comfort through others in the body. We’re going to make it Tina. Love you too Sis, and I’m forever grateful for your support. ❀❀

We ask Father that You would continue to show us Your love, grace and compassion so that we can be used for others and each other mightily. In Jesus’ name. Amen. ❀️

  7. Praying for you Viv! I know our God shall SUPPLY ALL your need according to His riches in glory! I have had to stand a many a day on that one, even when I didn’t feel it. It’s hard sometimes walking by faith …Somehow the bills were paid and food on the table. I look back and only God could have done itβ€”to bring money out of nowhere…πŸ™πŸΌ Out of curiosity what kind of items did you crochet and sell at one time?

    1. Good morning sweetie. Can’t sleep. Thank you for praying and for relating. I will Google that verse and memorize it too!!β€πŸ’• I have often wished money grew on trees.🀣 Yes, He will provide and we will trust.

I crocheted just about anything. I can send you a link to my crochet board on Pinterest I created of my creations. Hats, blankets, clothes, booties, etc. I did pretty well at the time but people here won’t pay for what things handcrafted are worth. πŸ™„
