Songs of Hope 2.0

Dear blogging family,

I’m in the process of revising my page Songs of Hope and am looking for some input from you. Whether it’s psalms, hymns, or spiritual songs, I’m looking to compile a list of powerful music to help comfort and give hope to others who are suffering.

Many of you have shared beautiful and uplifting songs with me in the past and I’d like to ask for personal favorites and “go-to” songs that I can include here along with my favorites.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to hearing from you in the comments below.

Much love,Viv 🎶🎹🎤

    1. This song was so comforting to listen to Rebekah. I loved the soothing words. The scriptures with pictures throughout brought such peace to me as I listened. This will definitely be a blessing to others. Thank you for sharing it! Much love!❤🤗🎤

  1. Hmmm… I will think on this one, Viv. I have a ton on my Youtube, but I’ll have to go through it and see what I have that is comforting for those who are suffering. Oh! I can think of one right now that always makes me cry, in a good way. 😀 Riley Clemons’ “Fighting for Me.” So good. I always cry. We need to be reminded that He’s working. He’s always fighting for us.

    1. Thanks precious! Take your time. You might have a song pop into your head in the middle of the night like I do when I can’t remember it during the day. 😂 Let me know if you want me to add any others but wow, I loved this song! Oh how much I needed to hear this one tonight. Wow. Never stop fighting for us and yes, every promise is ours. Amen.❤❤🤗

    1. Heather, thank you for your input! You’re the second one to mention “It Is Well With My Soul” which is most certainly such a comfort to me thinking of the writer of this hymn, Horatio Spafford, and the loss of his daughters from a shipwreck. He must have gained much comfort from God as he penned this song.
Oh yes, “How Great Thou Art” is also a wonderful hymn!! I love “Oceans” too!! Thank you again Heather and much love!❤

  2. A song that has really touched my heart is Known, by Tauren Wells. Everytime I hear it I feel really moved, to know that God knows everything about me and still doesn’t love me any less. A really beautiful song! God Bless you Vivian! 🙂

  4. Breathe by Jonny Diaz my favorite go-to song. It’s such a great reminder to just breathe! It usually brings tears to my eyes and gives me Jesus bumps because it always plays on the radio at the exact moment I need it the most. Like God is speaking to me through the station!

      2. Very true. I’ve actually discovered more about others through the songs they love the most. Just shows me how God is holding them through their particular circumstances and it comforts me too!😍❤

      3. Amen!!! Do It Again by Elevation Worship, God gave me that song when we were really struggling with finances. He was showing me how to trust Him in the uncertain, and it was SO hard. But through the song HE spoke loudly against the echoes of my fear.

  6. I made a playlist of some of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxpyXPT0QjJlr8_wHL-gVIYGwX2g0JCmb. Including “Behold Our God” by Sovereign Grace Music, “Living Hope” by Phil Wickham, “In Christ Alone” by Phillips Craig and Dean, and “At Your Feet” by Casting Crowns. There are so many great songs already suggested by others in these comments!! We sang “All in All” in youth choir and I have loved it ever since. Many of my favorite songs are from then, by Avalon, Point of Grace, Michael W. Smith, and others. But there’s certainly plenty to choose from on the current market, too!

  7. Angel Armies by Chris Tomlin. I went to a concert where Chris spoke about the inspiration for the song:

2 Kings 6 “Don’t be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16,17

I get chills every time I read this.
