Faith vs. Fear

I feel this very revelant post written last year should be reposted during these uncertain times. I hope it blesses you today. ❤

I have lived this. Fear. It truly is crippling. Fear is the opposite of faith. When I get afraid, I literally can’t walk, and feel more fatigued.

Here are some powerful verses on fear that God wants us to live by as we face challenging times.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:10

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

Psalm 56:3

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

Mark 11:22

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

With God, truly, all things are possible. Yet He came as a man in the flesh and can empathize with us. He understands our humanity and weakness and prays for us. His power is in those who are in Him and He has not given us a spirit of fear! If we succumb to fear, we cannot watch God’s power displayed in our weakness. We can still put one foot in front of the other and step out in faith, knowing God is with us while strengthening us, and even if we feel afraid, we can face our fears leaning on Him. Our courage comes from God!

Much love,

Viv 💚

      1. Wow, Wendi!! How beautiful! I was hit out of nowhere is seems with vertigo last week and still can’t seem to shake it. May was an awful month and I think the stress caught up with me. 2. you just made my day………..i prayed for God to hold you still in His arms and visualized the healing. If my prayers had anything to do with you feeling a touch better I am humbled and thrilled beyond words…….I am deeply sorry you have had vertigo, for me that is the absolute worst! I would rather be in pain. Now I will send up another prayer and ask for your world to be pleasantly still……….

    1. Thank you Nikki!! I’m so sorry for the health issues. The body can be the most frightening thing when out of control. I will pray for you. That song is awesome! It too has blessed me and I can literally hear it playing in my head now! It is a liar. Big hugs! We both encourage each other!🤗💚

I’ve had many many hundreds of thousands (even “zillions”) of comments on my various other WordPress blogs at
in recent years …true!). A few of my blogs went “balistically viral” a few years back and I got swamped with comments on my various blogs… so had to close them all off.

Obsessive or WHAT! Am really pleased you are enjoying my writings, as the reason I write is to share.

Though I’m rather “driven”, I still get really, really fatigued (there’s a few books there). So sorry can’t reply individually to all you good people scattered around the planet. As mentioned (stop repeating yourself, c – bad writing…otherwise the first signs of approaching senility!), I was unable to keep up with the comments and was spending entire days just on replies on my various blog pages, so had to close them off on all of my blogs, except for one or two of particular interest to me.

Sorry and hope you can understand.

  5. Hello there. This is good writing. I’m on the crossroads, and faith is something that either boggles or fascinates me. I am just new here in WordPress (2 weeks actually), and I also wrote about my mental health (or lack thereof) overlapping with my spirituality. Here it is:

Good job for supporting self-expression/mental health advocacy through writing. I appreciate it if we follow each other and keep on blogging. Thank you!

  6. It took courage to write this. Thank you. When learning to dance I had to learn how to face fear. When my teacher taught me that I could do it but that is was simply an emotional block I realized I could get past it. I did learn to dance, and a whole lot more because I refused to allow fear to rule me. Fear is a choice, like all choices it can be overruled. Faith is also a choice. It all comes down to simple choice.
