Mold

It’s really bad for your health

A toxin I am told

Those black specks staring on my wall

That stinky black mold

We have had so much rain

It makes me want to bark

I wonder if I should take a hint

And build a wooden ark

Growing up on ceilings, walls,

Every window sill

I need to rid our home from this

It’s making us all ill!!

I’ve tried a number of sprays

Investing in what kills

But those awful black spots

I’ll send them to the hills!

We really don’t want to bleach

It hurts my head you see

Which toxin is worse

Bleach or mold?

Both make me feel woosey

I’ve tried so many natural sprays

They have not worked the best

I really wish that silly mold

Would up and leave as guest

I’m sorry for this woeful poem

But pray I rid this from my home!

If any of you have a idea

Please comment below

And I will see ya!

  1. Hi Vivian, I am not a professional and these are only suggestions you may want to try. Mold is usually caused by leaks in plumbing or your roof, and with high humidity, mold grows. My experience has been that even if you use a bleach solution it comes back. I would recommend checking for leaks first whether in the roof or plumbing, make sure you replace your air filters every 30 days, even in winter, crack a window for fresh air, a couple hours a day. Run your AC at 70 every 7 days during winter, helps reduce humidity, do your rugs ever feel damp or moist? Then its time to send them to the cleaners, or do like I do, I take them to the car wash and hang on the wall hooks and clean myself. You can also use a dehumidifier, (make sure you clean it, as directed), use the exhaust fans in Bathroom when showering, and crack the window. When done showering close window and let fan run until you are dressed. When cooking run your exhaust fan. Now how do you get rid of the mold. You can hire a professional, this can be a serious situation affecting your entire family’s health, if it is everywhere you will need a professional. If it is a small area, Use a test kit to find out what kind of mold you have, find a friend or family member who is qualified to check roof and plumbing for leaks, fix leaks, then address the mold. Your homeowners insurance may cover the cost of the repair, find out when you have all your facts. Hope the suggestions help.

    1. Wow, these suggestions are pretty awesome. I guess you’ve dealt with this too…I’m very, very grateful! We don’t have a fan in the bathroom…..I know for a fact a dehumidifier would help. Going to copy this message for reference. Thank you and God bless you for your help. It means a lot!!

  2. Ohhh, noooo! Black mold is insidious and dangerous! I will be praying for you. I agree with all that Debra wrote, above, especially the hiring of professional treatment. I use essential oils a lot, and I know they kill molds. Ammonia also kills mold (NEVER use in combination with bleach).

  3. I just recently met this mold monster too. This is something I never faced in Florida but since it snows here in Romania we have it now too. I use diluted bleach, gloves, and scrub affected areas. This doesn’t hinder growth but it does stop it for some time. Sorry I cannot be new helpful. Prayers and Hugs for you.
